Village Fete 2017

The Fete this year was held on June 24th on a warm, dry day. Many people enjoyed the stalls and attractions, which this year included ‘China Smash’ and ‘Water or Wine’ as well as perennial favourites – ‘Hook a Duck’ ‘Bat the Rat’ ‘Hoopla’ ‘Tombola’ ‘Bric a Brac’ ‘books’ ‘Clothes and Toys’ and Art and Craft. To eat and drink there was the bar and BBQ or tea and cakes. Frankie again came to offer rides to all ages back around the field. The Companion Dog Show made a welcome return and was busy with pooches of all shapes and sizes competing for prizes.
The crowds were entertained throughout the afternoon by Maypole dancing from Langley Fitzhurse School and singing by local duet ‘That’s Life’
Although it was felt that there was less footfall than previous years the fete exceeded expectations raising a profit of £2,600. The proceeds are divided between Langley Burrell Village Hall and St Peter’s Church, Langley Burrell.
